Hi, I'm Omar.
I like to describe
my art as Ironic-Oneiric

Irony
is the lens through which I interpret reality and human nature. It's my way of approaching even the heaviest and most complex themes with a light touch, free from preconceptions and conventional thinking
Oneiric
aims to transport the observer into a dimension without space or time – much like the one I inhabit when I'm creating. This helps to foster a more intimate connection with the artwork.

A little about me
My name is Omar Tigrini (born 1979) and for over twenty years I worked in the world of visual communication as an art director and graphic designer for the corporate sector. In parallel, until 2019, I expressed my creativity through electronic music, producing two albums and performing live and DJ sets both in Italy and abroad.

My transition to the visual arts was a natural and, at the same time, necessary evolution: a move toward a language more closely aligned with my current sensibility, matured during a period of deep personal reflection that marked a new beginning for me. I dedicated five years to developing a stylistic code that could fully represent my vision, working first with the rigor of black and white using ink, graphite, and charcoal, before ultimately choosing soft pastels as the centerpiece of my work.

I define my research through the binomial “Ironic/Oneiric” (Ironico/Onirico) – two sides of the same anagram – where inspiration is drawn directly from everyday life. I do not seek beauty for its own sake; instead, I prefer to transpose the synthesis of my advertising background into the pictorial field to create a direct and accessible visual code, capable of offering multiple levels of interpretation. My goal is to trigger a reflection in the viewer, a new point of view, or a moment of escape from reality, in the belief that art is, in its essence, the purest form of entertainment.

In 2025, I decided to introduce myself to the public, launching my exhibition path with several group shows, two solo exhibitions, and the publication of a monograph documenting these five years of research. In this first year of activity, I received recognitions that make me proud: in June 2025, my ink drawing "Il Cavaliere" was acquired by the permanent collection of the Museo Casa Pagani in Castello Valsolda (CO), and in November, I was awarded fourth place at the Contemporary Art Talent Award of Arte Padova with the work "Insonnia". My journey continued in February 2026with second place at the Expositiva Art Prize held at Castello Isimbardi (PV).

In March 2026, I opened the doors of my Art Boutique & Atelier in Menaggio, on the shores of Lake Como: a space where my creative process is revealed without filters and where my works are transformed into art objects to be lived with and collected.
Visit me at my space in Menaggio to discover firsthand how my works come to life, or write to me to start a creative dialogue. It will be a pleasure to share my vision with you.

Kind Words
"Tigrini works more like a modern film director.
He draws from a vast visual history to create fresh images that, while new, are deeply connected to the traditions of art and collective memory. "

Researcher in Contemporary Art History at the University of Insubria (Varese–Como)
Director of the Research Center on the History of Contemporary Art (CRiSAC)
"There’s a logic behind this mutated dream-state, which is to plunge the viewer into shared awareness, using familiar settings to find the drift, ultimately leading the viewer into his dream state. Omar’s work is very much situated in place and experience. It’s a world-view that is both contemporary and particularly magical. "
David West
American painter, writer, and performer based in Paris.West became familiar with Omar‘s work in the summer of 22, when he did a residency at Castello, in Valsolda.
