Creative nocturne
This piece is an ode to sleepless nights: those silent hours when you're alone, gathering thoughts, untangling ideas, and making sense of things. These are the nights when, in the deepest dark, inspirations are born that will give life to tomorrow's paintings. Because, as an old saying wisely reminds us, "the early bird catches the worm" (or in Italian, "who sleeps catches no fish"): and it's precisely in these moments of nocturnal wakefulness that I manage to capture the most precious ideas.
"Insonnia" was awarded fourth place at the 13th edition of the Contemporary Art Talent Prize, part of the Contemporary Art Talent Show pavilion at Arte Padova 2025.
Materials
For this piece, I exclusively used professional, top-quality materials. It's rendered on Clairfontaine Pastelmat board, selected for its ideal texture. I applied colors with soft pastels and pastel pencils from renowned brands: Sennelier, Blockx, Rembrandt, Faber-Castell Pitt, and Stabilo Carbothello. All pigments are premium and highly light-resistant, ensuring the artwork's enduring vibrancy.
