Exchange a sign of peace

Armed peace

This artwork originated from the association of images experienced during Easter: war news reports and advertisements for Colomba Pasquale (Italian Easter dove-shaped cake). The goal is to create a visual short-circuit that prompts reflection on peace and war, and how they are constantly interconnected. Even if one tries to separate the elements, contamination is inevitable: the dove carries the blood of war, and the grenade holds the olive branch of peace.

Materials

For this piece, I exclusively used professional, top-quality materials. It's rendered on 360 gsm Clairfontaine Pastelmat paper, selected for its ideal texture. I applied colors with soft pastels and pastel pencils from renowned brands: Sennelier, Blockx, Rembrandt, Faber-Castell Pitt, and Stabilo Carbothello. All pigments are premium and highly light-resistant, ensuring the artwork's enduring vibrancy.
