Omar Tigrini - Just Human - Menaggio - Lake como

From August 4th to 9th, the Sala Mostre Comunale in Menaggio (Piazza Garibaldi 7), set against the stunning backdrop of Lake Como, will host “JUST HUMAN”, the new solo exhibition by artist Omar Tigrini, curated by art historian Rachele Brognoli.

Promoted by the Municipality of Valsolda, Museo Casa Pagani, and CRISAC (Research Center for Contemporary Art), the exhibition presents a deep, ironic, and visually powerful exploration of the contemporary human condition.

Vernissage

The official Vernissage will take place on Friday, August 7th at 6:00 PM at the Sala Mostre Comunale. It will be a special opportunity to meet the artist and curator Rachele Brognoli, share a toast, and experience the exhibition journey together.

The Concept: In Search of the "Possible Human"

Who is the possible human being? It is the person who survives the chaos of the present by reclaiming the only true forgotten freedom: the child’s gaze. A way of seeing that disregards logic, morality, and boundaries—capable of perceiving magic in the ordinary without distinguishing between the real and the imagined.

Starting from this premise, Omar Tigrini flips every traditional perspective on its head. Our daily neuroses, media overload, and the uncertainty of the future become material to dismantle through the clever use of irony. In his signature Ironic-Oneiric language, reality explodes into visual short-circuits that evoke the dramatic visions of Goya, the surreal atmospheres of Magritte, or the biting satire of Daumier, but with a bold chromatic strength that asks no permission.

“Soft pastel is not merely a tool, but the child’s first gesture that Tigrini transforms into a poetic weapon.”

Every artwork in the exhibition represents a possible escape, a gateway, and an open invitation to strip away adult superstructure and look at the world once again with fresh eyes. Because behind every paranoid certainty of our time, there is always another version: lighter, clearer, more human.
